Keynoter:

We are very excited to announce that Rev. Cliff Aerie, Minister for Special Events, Creativity and the Arts, United Church of Christ, has agreed to be our leader for the 2009 event.

Cliff is an ordained UCC pastor, a musician, poet, composer, and producer (among other things).  Cliff is also the leader of the UCC Jazz Combo "Oikos" that has performed at General Synod, and at conference meetings and in local churches across the UCC.

The 2009 Persons In Ministry Retreat will focus on the place of Imagination and Creativity in our mission and ministry.

As Special Events Producer, Cliff has directed and produced General Synod since 2001.  He has written several award winning UCC annual reports, and written, scored and produced an original musical comedy.  Cliff lives in Cleveland with his wife, Jan.  Their three adult children are pursuing their own creative vocations in the arts.

Dr. Christopher Bakriges combines jazz, Mediterranean elements derived from his Greek heritage, and the rich African American cultural milieu in which he grew up, into a unique form of musical storytelling.  He has performed with the Oikos Ensemble at more than 130 UCC events around the country, including General Synod.  Dr. Bakriges is currently Artist-in-Residence and Lecturer at Elms Collage in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
