Boundary Training

All persons authorized for ministry and students in care with the three associations of the Missouri Mid-South Conference are required to attend an approved course of study on ethical conduct and boundary issues, and to renew their training every three years as long as they are involved in any form of ministry. Many MMS authorized ministers participated in the first “great boundary training” events that were offered in 2000- 2001.

On behalf of your Committee on Ministry/ Church and Ministry Committee/ Preparation for Ministry Committee, the Implementing Ministry has researched and explored a variety of possible options for this new round of training. We have decided to use the video series, A Sacred Trust, in the context of small group conversations.

The design for these training events (two four-hour sessions) includes Part A and Part B. Each session will cover two of the four videos with guided conversations, and they can be attended in either order. Over the next year (2007) you are asked to participate in both sessions in order to receive the certificate of attendance.

Opportunities will be provided periodically.  They will be designed according to the needs of participants and availability of leaders.
